Our guidance supports you to get the best out of your public sector decarbonisation projects with high-quality commissioning and handovers.

Here you will find access to information on handing over a completed project, staff training and setup, and commissioning of equipment to specific building operations. Ensuring all handover documentation is in place.

At the end of any installation project there is a phase of work called commissioning. This is when the installation is switched on and run, testing it to ensure that it works as intended. Depending on the technology, the installation may need programming, parameters may need to be set, and it will need checking to make sure that it is working correctly and safely.

Who should use this guidance?

Capture - PSDS - Commissioning and handover.PNG This Public Sector Decarbonisation Guidance was commissioned by the Department for Energy Security and Net Zero (DESNZ), formerly the Department for Business, Energy and Industrial Strategy (BEIS), and the Cabinet Office to help public sector bodies and their decarbonisation partners understand the best route to Net Zero. We aim to help deliver decarbonisation projects at scale, as well as support grant funding applications, to enable rapid progress on reducing carbon emissions.

This guidance takes learnings from the Modern Energy Partners (MEP) programme and expertise from across Energy Systems Catapult to provide guidance on heat decarbonisation and energy management.
