We are a network of over 3,500 people and organisations that lead the way in advancing the stewardship of land, water and nature throughout England, Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland.

The Network is for everyone, from park rangers to public health specialists and from land valuers to landscape architects. By supporting professionals and volunteers, we work for the benefit of people in all parts of society. Through our work, our members learn how to manage the environment locally as an asset for all of society. We achieve learning outcomes for our members, so they can do their jobs better.

Resources

We provide resources to help people manage the environment as an asset for the benefit of everyone. Follow the links below for a wide range of published guidance, reports, tools, case studies, and much more.

Nature Finance Learning Hub

The Nature Finance Learning Hub is here to help you discover the topic of financial innovation for environmental restoration across the UK. This unique group for professionals in financial services and environmental stewardship was launched at the inaugural Natural Capital Investment Conference in 2019. It is referenced in the HM Government’s Green Finance Strategy 2019.

Tool Assessor

Tool Assessor is a free service that provides summary information about ways that show the value of the natural environment in society. This includes, for example, the role of natural features in reducing flood risk, improving health, and storing carbon. Across the UK, the networks of features that provide these benefits are sometimes referred to as natural capital, natural assets, green infrastructure, and green networks. The contributions that these features make to people’s lives are often called ecosystem services.

Project Directory

View selected projects, initiatives, plans, and case studies that feature innovative ideas and approaches. The directory includes nature finance projects and initiatives delivering ecosystem services at the local, regional, or national level. You can use the interactive, searchable, map-based facility to explore a wealth of projects in progress or completed across the UK.

Webinar Library

The Ecosystems Knowledge Network runs webinars to share good practice, new tools, and resources around the UK. We have the experience of running over 100 webinars. Our webinar library contains recordings of selected events that have already taken place.
