The North West Net Zero Hub has prepared a series of sessions for its junior officers to reinforce their skills leading to decarbonisation surveys and feasibilities. The five-part programme includes the following sessions:

• Building basics
• Building heating options
• Building power systems and energy efficiency
• Building controls and management: Smart building
• Building survey for feasibility

These are the accompanying PowerPoint slides for the second of these sessions, which delves into the decarbonisation of heat and heating options in buildings. They mainly focus on what needs to be considered when choosing heating methods (e.g., site restrictions, costs, carbon emissions), understanding daily and yearly operation and energy use, and how to carry out an options appraisal.
